Reflections on the 2025 CAHON Community Oncology Forum
MGM National Harbor, Oxon Hill, MD | March 29–30, 2025
Tucked within the National Harbor lies MGM—an unexpectedly dazzling venue. Yet it was not luxury that drew us, but legacy. Hundreds of oncologists and hematologists gathered not only to advance cancer care, but to honor a milestone: the 20th anniversary of CAHON—two decades of unity, mentorship, and excellence.
Dr. Shuang Fu, the lead organizer, captured the spirit of the weekend best: “To stay tight, to stay together, to learn together as a family.” This ethos guided every moment of the event.
Scientific Highlights
The forum started with full day of expertly moderated clinical roundtables. From melanoma and breast cancer to GI, GU, GYN, and lymphoma, each session challenged us to refine our thinking. The moderators and presenters brought together a national panel with deep subspecialty expertise, prompting spirited dialogue on diagnostics, novel therapeutics, and real-world decision-making.
In the afternoon, we turned our focus to professional development. The career roundtables offered transparent insight into academic advancement and community practices, transitions to industry or regulatory roles, and the importance of mentorship across generations. For many, these were the most personally impactful moments of the day. The best advice for the young generation echoed throughout the sessions — follow your passion.
Cultural and Personal Moments
As evening approached, the white coats came off. We stepped into the night with old friends and new colleagues, boarding a boat as the Gaylord sparkled behind us. The harbor, often overlooked in our hurried visits to D.C., revealed its quiet beauty under the turning lights of the Ferris wheel.
In the gentle ripple of the water, we noticed orange lanterns drifting—each inscribed with a wish. Watching them gather into a glowing crescent brought a sudden quiet. Dr. Ligeng Tian reflected that “If I had a lantern, I would write: Peace and prosperity for all”
Amid the soft rain of cherry blossoms, we celebrated with joy that felt both personal and shared. We saw, and were seen. We gave joy, and were transformed by it.
Closing Thoughts
This forum was more than a conference. It was a reaffirmation of our values. In a time of growing demands, CAHON continues to be a rare space of understanding, trust, and community—a family in the deepest sense.
Thank you to the COF planning committee and our gracious Maryland hosts for curating a flawless, moving, and unforgettable celebration.
As we each return to our hospitals, clinics, and labs, we carry forward more than knowledge—we carry forward connection.

CAHON 2025 华盛顿特区
美国华裔血液和肿瘤专家学会（CAHON）社区肿瘤医生论坛第八次大会于2025年3月29日在华盛顿特区成功召开，吸引了100多名CAHON成员共襄盛举。本次大会由CAHON社区肿瘤分会会长Dr. Shuang Fu、Dr. Lei Zheng 领衔组织，并得到了CAHON理事会及会长 Dr. Liang Deng 的大力支持。
大会采用圆桌病例讨论的形式，深入探讨了肿瘤血液学各亚学科的最新诊断和治疗进展，为在场的肿瘤血液专科医生提供了宝贵的学习与交流机会。各专题的主持人均为美国肿瘤血液学界的权威专家，具有丰富的临床经验并在各自领域取得了卓越成就。
纽约纪念斯隆-凯特琳癌症中心（Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center）的 Dr. Liang Deng 团队首先分享了恶性黑色素瘤的最新治疗进展；纽约大学医学院（New York University Medical School）的 Dr. Iris Zhi 团队讲解了乳腺癌的诊治现状与未来前景；弗吉尼亚肿瘤中心（Virginia Oncology Associates）的 Dr. David Zhang 团队总结了消化系统肿瘤的最新治疗策略及临床试验进展；哈佛医学院（Harvard Medical School）的 Dr. Chong-xian Pan 团队介绍了泌尿系统肿瘤的最新研究成果；西雅图瑞典医疗中心（Swedish Cancer Center）的 Dr. Yanting Feng 团队则分享了妇科肿瘤领域的最新突破。
CAHON 一直致力于培养和支持新一代肿瘤血液学医生及科研工作者。来自佛罗里达肿瘤中心（Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute）的 Dr. Mary Li、威斯康星医学院（University of Wisconsin Medical School）的 Dr. Hongtao Liu、美国食品药品监督管理局（Food and Drug Administration, FDA）的 Dr. Yuxia Jia，以及长期投身制药行业的 Dr. Ruirong Yuan，分别就各自的从业经验与心得进行了深入交流和探讨。
当纽约医学院（New York Medical College）的 Dr. Delong Liu 回顾自己多年来在肿瘤血液学领域的奋斗历程，以及与 CAHON 共同成长的二十年，现场气氛达到高潮，与会者无不为之动容。作为 CAHON 的创始人之一，刘德龙教授不仅在学术研究方面卓有成就，还创办了包括影响因子高达 29.9 的《血液与肿瘤学杂志》（Journal of Hematology & Oncology）在内的多本知名学术期刊。如今，CAHON 正逐步成长为在国际肿瘤血液学界具有重要影响力的学术组织，并持续推动中美科学交流与合作。
会议最后，CAHON 理事会主席 Dr. Jingzhou Hou 宣布大会圆满闭幕，并鼓励所有 CAHON 成员秉承组织的优良传统，团结协作，共同迎接更加美好的未来。本次大会不仅是一场高水平的学术盛宴，亦是一场充满温情的相聚。在紧张充实的学术交流之余，与会者还畅游了波托马克河，欣赏了华盛顿绚烂的樱花，留下了美好回忆。

在National harbor里面，原来藏着MGM这样一个金碧辉煌的所在。 然而纸醉金迷与我们无关，120余名血液肿瘤专家，从全国各地赶来，汇聚华盛顿特区，庆祝CAHON成立20周年。
周六上午圆桌会议，以千变万化的案情为引，谈论癌症治疗的最新进展。黑色素瘤，乳腺癌，前列腺癌，胃癌，淋巴瘤，子宫内膜癌。诊断，治疗，临床试验，现实考量。或顿悟，或争论，时有抚掌相和，偶有面红耳赤。学无止境，医生们深有心得。
周六下午职业发展，从学术界到社区，从工业界到政府，选择各有偏重，没有一定之规，跟随心中挚爱，无畏改变，乃不二法则。年轻一代受到无私指引，CAHON 的魅力，在团结友爱，润物无声。
学术盛宴之后，蜕下西装，呼朋引伴登船而去，笑意盎然，未饮已醉。Gaylord华灯初上，摩天轮缓缓转动。多少次DC匆匆来去，原来夜光里水岸如此璀璨， 只是心中有扰，不曾静心驻足。
水波粼粼中橙亮色的是什么？一盏盏的灯笼，写满美好心愿投入河中，漂流汇聚，成弯弯的月牙。远处灯火喧嚣，岸上的国旗静静招展。忽然就很感动，倘使我有一只灯笼，我会写：国泰民安。
樱花雨纷纷扬扬里，这一场欢畅淋漓啊。
我们看见，与被看见。
我们感染喜悦，又被喜悦感染。
世事纷扰中， 这是一片净土。理解，赞美，信任，相助。
不只是专业协会，每一次CAHON的活动，都是友谊的盛筵。
